What seemed like a deep fake to begin with, turns out to be real.
The HM Treasury official account tweeted the video and wrote: “Why is inflation high and how are we going to halve it? Grab a coffee and let Chancellor @Jeremy_Hunt explain.”
With his annoying voice and some annoying background music he tried to explain why the UK is in a total mess, without blaming his own party, or mentioning Brexit.
Cost of living crisis
His video comes as wages in the private sector have risen at the fastest rate for more than 20 years but continued to fall in real terms as inflation remained in double digits in November, reports The Times.
Also the cost of living crisis is damaging the mental health of nearly half of adults in Great Britain, with people in Wales the unhappiest of all, according to research, reports The Guardian.
