Watch: Fury as Rishi Sunak helicopter trip is more pointless than ever

"Nothing says 'man of the people' like flying everywhere by helicopter at taxpayers' expense during a cost of living crisis."

Rishi Sunak, our super-rich Prime Minister jumped in a taxpayer-funded helicopter to make a very short journey

If he had taken the train it would have taken little more than an hour.

During a cost of living crisis and a couple of days after the taxpayer forked out an estimated £100m to celebrate the Charles’ coronation this news might not sit well with a lot of people.

Flight records show the helicopter left from RAF Northolt at around 8:53am this morning, before landing at Wellington Barracks in Westminster where it picked up Mr Sunak, reports The Mirror.

It is thought that it would have cost about £6000 whereas the train would have cost around £53, which is still a farce of a price. But rail privatisation is for another post.

Back in January, he took a taxpayer-funded private jet to Scotland to launch “green” tax breaks.

Pharmacy

Rishi Sunak had his blood pressure taken as he visited a pharmacy in Southampton on his trip.

However, a Pharmacist at former Sunak family chemist wary of PM’s health plans, reports The Guardian.

“Inside, the pharmacist Jithender Ballepu was expressing reservations about Rishi Sunak’s plans for chemist shops to provide prescriptions for millions of patients in England.”

While in Southamton Rishi Sunak admitted last week’s local elections were “obviously disappointing” after the Conservatives lost over 1,000 seats.

However, he insisted that he had the right priorities for the country. “What I can tell people is we are working day and night to make their lives better,” Sunak said.

“The priorities I set out, I believe, are the right ones, they are the country’s priorities and we will keep working to deliver them.”

This is what papers made of it…

Are there no pharmacies in London?

What is it about that Southampton pharmacy that makes it worth a £6000 trip?

Unbelievable – @RishiSunak is in Southampton making an announcement about pharmacies. Mr Sunak is from Southampton – but will not be taking any questions from the @dailyecho. We weren't invited or told about the visit but did go.
