Campaign group Led By Donkeys has once again targeted Nigel Farage, this time by displaying his second-job earnings on a billboard in Clacton, where he serves as the MP. The billboard, set to remain for six months, will be updated when the new Register of Members’ Interests is released.

Farage, the leader of the Reform Party, has been frequently traveling abroad since taking office in July, and the billboard has drawn attention to how much time he’s spent away from his constituency. The stunt reveals that Farage earned £132,713 from various side jobs, including speaking engagements and his role on GB News, during his first month as MP. This is in addition to his regular MP salary.

The billboard is the latest in a series of jabs by Led By Donkeys, who previously embarrassed the former UKIP leader by unveiling a banner featuring Vladimir Putin and the slogan “I Love Nigel” at one of his campaign events.

Despite his earnings, locals in Clacton have raised concerns over how accessible their MP has been. Some residents claim they’ve struggled to contact Farage and point out that his constituency office has yet to fully open. Farage was recently in Chicago for another speaking engagement, raising further questions about his commitment to the constituency.

It’s projected that Farage could earn up to £1.5 million in the next year from second jobs alone, but Labour is currently discussing a potential ban on MPs taking outside work.

Such a move could hit Farage’s earnings hard. Meanwhile, Farage’s supporters argue he is dedicated to Clacton and has promised to buy a home there soon. Whether this will satisfy his constituents remains to be seen.
