Helldivers 2 enthusiasts are on high alert as hints suggest the emergence of a formidable adversary, potentially overshadowing the menacing Bile Titans that already haunt the game’s universe.

Speculation has surged within the Helldivers 2 community, fueled by a post on the game’s subreddit by user Tnel1027. The post features an image of what appears to be a statue of a monstrous insect, with Tnel1027 suggesting that these statues are actually remnants, or “molts,” of Hive Lords from the original Helldivers.

For those new among us – these “statues” appear to be molts from a Terminid enemy from Hell Divers 1 known as a Hive Lord: a massive sandworm-like creature. The tremors we’ve been experiencing could be the hints that this bad boy is coming soon..

Described as colossal sandworm-like creatures, Hive Lords are notorious for their ability to create subterranean tunnels for bug hives, posing a significant challenge to players engaged in the Galactic War. The post hints at recent tremors experienced by players as potential indicators of the impending arrival of this formidable foe.

Reactions among veteran players have been a mix of excitement and apprehension. Some express concerns about the increasing scale of adversaries, with one player, IceColdCocaCola, exclaiming, “What the FUCK. How large can the enemies get in this game?” Others, like RampagedAlpaca, eagerly anticipate the thrill of encountering such a massive creature, reminiscing about past tremors and hoping for an epic showdown.

For many, the communal experience of battling these monstrous threats is a core appeal of Helldivers 2. The recent collaboration to liberate Tien Kwan, initiated by developer Arrowhead, showcased the unity and determination of the player base. With the introduction of mechs as a reward for their efforts, players remain hopeful that their collective strength will prevail against any new challenges that lie ahead.
